A certain amount of bandwidth is required for CuboAi/CuboAi Plus to properly upload and maintain its video stream. To check your bandwidth, you may run a speed test on your iOS/Android device next to your baby monitor while connected to your home WiFi.
- The minimum required stable download/upload speed is 5 Mbps. If there are multiple devices connected to your baby monitor at the same time, CuboAi/CuboAi Plus will require a higher speed to maintain the stability of live streaming and other functions.
- If the speed test determines that the speed is less than 5 Mbps or only marginally higher than 5 Mbps, the speed and stability of the connection may be compromised. The speed will also affect the synchronization between the baby monitor and the App delaying AI detection and notifications.
- If there are multiple devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network, please ensure that there is sufficient bandwidth for CuboAi/CuboAi Plus.
WiFi signal strength also plays an important role in connectivity. Factors such as router location and distance can impact the strength of your Wi-Fi connection. If you have sufficient download/upload bandwidth and are still experiencing connection issues, the baby monitor may be too far from your router. You may need to consider moving the router closer to the baby monitor or to a more central location in the house.
🐤 If you are running iOS 14 on your device, the system will ask you to “Allow CuboAi/CuboAi Plus to connect to devices on your local network.” Please make sure to tap ‘OK’ to maintain a stable connection for your CuboAi/CuboAi Plus! (If you have previously chosen ‘Do Not Allow’, please go to Settings on your iOS device > scroll down and click into CuboAi to turn on and allow Local Network permissions.
If the WiFi speed is determined to be insufficient, please refer to What if I don’t have the bandwidth required for CuboAi/CuboAi Plus? for steps on how to improve the Wi-Fi signal.
