Cubo is a WiFi camera and needs to be connected to your home Wi-Fi network to connect to the Cubo App and the cloud so that parents can fully utilize Cubo’s features through the App.
- After you download the Cubo App on your phone, tablet, or other mobile device, you can check on your baby no matter where you are as long as Cubo is connected to the internet.
- To ensure that you meet the bandwidth requirement for Cubo, please refer to: Cubo’s Bandwidth Requirements
Network Restrictions:
- If you have Mesh WiFi at home, please disable Fast Roaming before connecting Cubo to WiFi.
- Cubo can only connect to a password-protected network and may not work in places where additional authentication is required to connect to WiFi such as hotels.
🐤 Can I tether from my mobile phone?
If you use your mobile phone hotspot as the primary WiFi connection, it is possible to connect Cubo to the App. However, this is NOT recommended since mobile hotspots may not provide a stable network to properly transmit data and utilize the Ai functions. Besides, Cubo cannot connect to the hotspot of iPhone 7 and above. We strongly recommend that parents keep Cubo connected to their home WiFi network.
🐤 What WiFi security types does Cubo support?
Cubo currently supports WPA, WPA2 security protocols. For compatibility, reliability, and security reasons, it is not recommended to use WEP and WPA TKIP due to their security weaknesses.
Note: WEP and WPA TKIP encryption methods have been deprecated due to serious security flaws. If these encryption methods are used, the performance and other functions of 802.11n and 802.11ac cannot be fully utilized. In addition, the WiFi Alliance has requested the WiFi industry to gradually phase out WEP and WPA TKIP.
